Big hit of the week!

Basil was a big hit this last week! We had people who got two or three at a time. Some people didn't even recognize that it was basil because it was so big! We sold out all our basil by 10:30am; so get here early this Saturday, if you would like some! ;)

What is Aquaponics?

Aquaponics is a way of growing vegetables sustainably. It is rather similar to hydroponics, only where in hydroponics, you need to add nutrients to the water, we have very large fish- tanks stocked with fish; so the fish give us all the nutrients we need for the plants to grow. The way that this system is more sustainable than hydroponics, is that the water is curculated through the whole system. We pump fishy water to the plants, the plants suck up the nutrients (thus filtering the water), the water is then pumped back into the fish-tanks as clean as if we had put it through a filter.
