Happy Friday!

Hi everyone! I hope that you all had an amazing 4th of July! :)

So we have survived the heat and sudden rain storms that have come up during the week, and we are still going to make it to the farmer's market tomorrow!! =) We are slowly but surely growing more lettuce, and we hope that in another few weeks to be back to normal!
And until then, we are still going to bring our escarole, basil, and baked goods! And we also have homemade (like, from scratch) peach jam this week! :D
So stop by and see us!

What is Aquaponics?

Aquaponics is a way of growing vegetables sustainably. It is rather similar to hydroponics, only where in hydroponics, you need to add nutrients to the water, we have very large fish- tanks stocked with fish; so the fish give us all the nutrients we need for the plants to grow. The way that this system is more sustainable than hydroponics, is that the water is curculated through the whole system. We pump fishy water to the plants, the plants suck up the nutrients (thus filtering the water), the water is then pumped back into the fish-tanks as clean as if we had put it through a filter.
